My random life, infront of the lens.

Look at me...

This is one of my favorite photos from my trip. This man had no idea I was going to take this image, it appears that he is angry, staring me down, and has a look of disgust on his face as if taking his image is the absolute most invasion of privacy. When in fact he is just working. The man looked my way by chance. I was in China town and there was an argument going on behind me. One man yelled "LOOK AT ME" I already had this man framed up, shooting from my hip (literally) and took the photo as he glared at the man behind me. The man in this image didn't even see me, he looked through me as if i was not there. "An image is worth 1000 words." This is a very true statement, the trick is knowing what words are real.......

A beautiful lie....

The working man...

The working man

While shooting a fat little squirrel in my front yard, my new neighbor walked by. Didn't get his name, but he did say that his father was an Air Force photographer back in the day. He mentioned spending many days and nights in the darkroom with his father. He has no idea the shot was taken, and I am debating on printing it and setting it at his door.

The reason I took this shot, was because of how he looks, dirty, disheveled, and worn. This is the look of a man that has not had an easy life, or things handed to him. Grease on his hands, dirt on his shirt, and a comb in his pocket. This is not a man the average person would strike up a conversation with, but I bet he has some fun stories he could share, while having a couple drinks from that bottle.

21/52...

this week i was using a new (to me) vintage 70-210mm f3.5 that i got off ebay for $15.

i was just testing it out and getting used to the manual focus, when i saw this family walking up. the dad was not in the best of moods, and the mom may have been the cause. they were walking down the middle of the street, i really do not know why people do this in my neighborhood, we have sidewalks. back to the story, they were walking down the center of the street the son was trailing a little while the parents "talked", loudly.

what caught my eye was the kid, was wearing the hockey mask you see in his hand, oh and he was proceeding to flip off every car that passed them... it was as if the cars shouldn't have been on the road while they were walking in the middle of it. the mom saw this and gave the boy a little smack on the head and pulled the mask off... so dad proceeded to flip off the next car that passed...

i love my neighborhood...

Protest...

20120416-090948.jpg This photo taught me a valuable lesson.... Buy more memory cards... I almost didn't get this shot. I left my memory card in my computer!!! I saw this couple while I was downtown, and tried to get the shot. Sure enough my "no card" error popped up. My jaw dropped, I missed this shot!!!

I ran home as quick as I could. Normally this is not an issue, but I was also trying out a new camera bag, and forgot to pack my spare card. Dumb move!

Thankfully when I returned they were still sitting there, cute as can be. They waived, and smiled as I took a few pictures.

I hope to have as much love, and passion as they do when I get to be their age.... Well if I make it that far...
