Double exposures... This is nothing new, been around for quite some time. Recently it caught my attention, so I decided to give one a shot. Now I may have become slightly obsessed with them. This was the first one I tried and I am hooked. Plan on seeing plenty more of these, as this may turn into a series.

Look....
It's nights like this, where I can see something that makes me smile. These are the reasons I carry a camera, to try to capture moments in time that make me think, remember, and grin ear to ear. This sticker has been here for years, and I have taken other photos of it, but something about tonight just made me smile. Hopefully it's contagious, and you catch it.
Just a little color.
Random walks always seem to generate some of my favorite images. Today I decided to take a little jaunt around Downtown Sioux Falls and look for some spots for future portraits. In the process of dodging raindrops, and construction cones this caught my eye. Three young children were putting the finishing touches on this, and I could not resist sneaking a couple shots.
Little pleasures...
I met with a friend tonight to pick my brain about some stuff he has planned for the future. Some banana bread and Joia kept me company until he arrived.
Today is the first day of having my camera with my most of the time. This is something that has been planned for quite some time now. The amount of photos that have been missed, or captured with my iPhone are abundant. This will come to a stop. Now this does not mean my iPhone will no get plenty of use, I love my Instagram too much for that to happen.

Icepocalypse 2013. Day 3...
So after 2 days of crazy ice and rain, we were awarded 6 inches of snow... Again this is the craziest Spring in a long time.
Icepocalypse 2013
We are currently having the craziest storm of the year. Rain, ice, sleet, thunder, lightning, and up to 8 inches of snow are now possible. This may be the craziest spring I have ever witnessed.
Full of hot air...
This is something that is on my bucket list. Hopefully riding in one of these will happen soon. Now lets just hope I can keep my camera down long enough to enjoy the ride.

The working man...
While shooting a fat little squirrel in my front yard, my new neighbor walked by. Didn't get his name, but he did say that his father was an Air Force photographer back in the day. He mentioned spending many days and nights in the darkroom with his father. He has no idea the shot was taken, and I am debating on printing it and setting it at his door.
The reason I took this shot, was because of how he looks, dirty, disheveled, and worn. This is the look of a man that has not had an easy life, or things handed to him. Grease on his hands, dirt on his shirt, and a comb in his pocket. This is not a man the average person would strike up a conversation with, but I bet he has some fun stories he could share, while having a couple drinks from that bottle.

lazy day
My son and I decided to have a lazy day due to the impending SNOWPOCALYPSE. As usual I was tinkering with my camera and left the fisheye on. My son started playing with it and took this shot of me nerding out on my computer.

Rain in January
Photo Walk.
Recently I joined a local Facebook group called VISION|HEIRS on a photo walk in Downtown Sioux Falls, SD. It was Bitter cold, windy, and the most fun i have had in a while. We didn't stay outside too long as the feeling in my toes was lost rather quickly.
The adventure moved indoors to a local bar called Lucky's. They used to be known as the pool hall and now there are only a few tables left over. After a beer, some bar food, and a major amount of photo geeking i managed to snag a few photos. This was one of my favorites of the night.
Awesome night, new friends, and more knowledge. We need to do this again soon.

dad went too far.
Playing with some toys, with my son. That is how this started. About 10 mins into playing I go this idea. With a very sour look on my son's face, the shot was set up.
so this was created using my 70-200 F2.8 and two speedlites. One on the ground behind and to the right of the ring, with a plastic bounce diffuser. The second on a tripod, with a 43" shoot through umbrella in front and to the right, pointing down at about a 45 degree angle. . Both speedlites were set to 1/64th power and 35mm zoom. Shutter speed was 1/100th at 70mm F8.0. Hand held as close to the floor as i could get.
My son has since lost all interest in letting me play with his toys...
